Bman asked:

I’ve heard that a “personal” wind turbine” that costs about $13,000 will pay for itself in about 5 years. Does that mean that if I get a 5 year loan for the cost, I could use the proceeds from it to pay it off each month with nothing out of pocket? If that is the case, everyone with some land and able to get a loan should buy one!

Has there been any experimenting with a power generating wind turbine,
that would be cylindrical?
Where you could have a big front opening. Then narrow down tube. then a turbine at the end.
What that create more power?

My husband works on the commercial wind turbines. We get to read all sort of interesting articles/magazines put out for those who work in the wind turbine industry.

They now have a working prototype of a wind turbine that not only produces energy, but also produces hydrogen. Of course this is on a wind turbine based in the ocean. The prototype is near Denmark.

Wind turbines generate power via the wind. The power is then trasmitted down power lines, and into the power grid. Sometimes wind turbines are generating too much power for the power lines to be able to accept, because the wind is very strong that day.

Now instead of that power being wasted, it’s being used at the wind turbine in the ocean to make hydrogen. There is also of course a holding tank for the hydrogen as part of that wind turbine now.

The plan is to have a lot of these hydrogen producing wind turbines in place, and have a boat go out and pick up the “free” hydrogen.

Thoughts, opinions?

Australia has a huge, sparcely populated centre, I think its fairly windy. Why dont they build a massive wind turbine farm to provide all the power that they need?

I need to get a blueprint or just a small little illustration showing me how to make a windmill/wind turbine.

I want to know the basics to the advanced things of how to create one what they do and how they do it.

Stanley asked:

Hey PLEASE READ ALL.
I remember in my Environmental studies class when i was in school, my teacher said that Wind turbines did not Power all the time, as because when it is not windy, they do not spin, therefor don’t Create any power.

My Question was, why cant the design it so there is a fan attached onto the turbine somewhere so that it blows the turbine so it will never stop, thus causing the turbine to spin and Create power all the time? she seemed shocked and didn’t know the answer.
Think about it, the people ive asked said, if the wind turbine stops, then the fan will not have any power and will also stop, BUT if it has a fan blowing it, once it starts, the fan will be blowing it all the time and will never stop as long as the turbine wont stop, which it wont because the fan wont stop.
The turbine wont stop if the fan doesn’t stop, and the fan wont stop as long as the turbine wont stop.

Therefor it wont stop! and will always Create power and will always spin.

My question is, why don’t they design a fan to the wind turbines? Or have they not fought of it yet?

lol, thanks for reading, i know this sounds stupid.
