250,000,000
x 10,000 miles per year
/ 20 mpg average
= 125,000,000,000 gallons of gasoline used each year in America

Which do you prefer: a windmill on the top of your car, or solar panels on the hood?
And if we don’t convert our cars and trucks, aren’t these two solutions nothing more than pandering to liberals for support?
Isn’t drilling the real solution?

No; the U.S. only has enough resources to last 60 years; 1 year of oil and 59 of natural gas at current levels of consumption.

No, solar and wind is a joke.
Dems get angry when they’re asked to deal in reality instead of fantasy.

“Drilling is a short term solution for a long term problem” Don’t know where I heard that, but I like it.
I’m all for drilling but I want cheap, available fuel now. Nashville ran out of gas and Atlanta is coming up short. I know drilling will buy us time, etc but if we don’t address this now, our kids will be dealing with it all over again.
BTW: The Solar panels go on the roof, and the battery pack goes in the trunk. They are already driving solar powered cars in CA – where the sunshine is.

How about abandoned used car lots under the wheels.
On the side of automobiles, using alternative fuels to provide energy for stationary use (i.,e., homes, factories) will free oil for transportation.

Your estimate is way low. We most likely have more cars than that and average mileage is 12-15k miles/year.
Windmills on top of your car wont work. They would add drag, weight, and require batteries to store the energy so you car runs when its stopped.
Small solar panels also don’t work. You would need to cover the car with them and it still wouldn’t have the power to travel very fast. It needs large expensive heavy batteries too.

Tell you what.
I’ll jump on your drilling bandwagon IF you’ll support:
1) Auto manufacturers building or importing vehicles into America are mandated to produce only vehicles capable of getting 50+ mpg within 10 years. (Emergency vehicles excepted)
2) There are no deadline extensions to #1.
3) Failure to meet #1 results in a ban on that manufacturer selling vehicles in America.
4) Safety cannot be compromised to achieve #1.
5) Emission standards must meet or exceed present standards.
6) A tax bonus to manufacturers who can meet this goal in less than 7 years.
The technology IS there.

batteries and natural gas are the solution.
the windmills and solar panels will power our homes and recharge the batteries for our cars.
Drilling will not solve anything…where are the new refineries? The oil companies haven’t built an oil refinery in 25 years.
Let me tell you something else, the oil companies have no incentive to drill and bring down the price of oil. Why would they, they have made a MINT while the prices are high.
They have access to hundreds of thousands of acres…they won’t drill on any of it. Because firstly there isn’t anywhere to refine it secondly it’s not in the companies best interest.

No – wouldn’t work. Best solution is to make gas $12/gallon. Then people will use 50 mpg cars.
