of course I want to build one my self …..the most economic way is a requirement but not the easiest way is required. I am willing to work hard to build the windmill in muscle in finding supplies and in making it work. I just am not willing to pay alot of money for a windmill….i would rather have the windmill’s power go straight into my house electric then through a series of batteries……I can figure how to make most things work…..any one have a lead on plans on building a small residential windmill ?? and dont you worry about regulations and/or zoning for my area i can do that thanks!

I don’t understand Bilruss’s answer. The fan is driven by the vehicle’s passage throught the air. Like a jet engine turning the turbine, but rather than developing thrust out the other end, your generating voltage through a coil.

in the book example it gives that for instance, “an increase of the wind speed from 14 to 16miles/hour results in an increase in electrical generation of nearly 50 percent.”

that makes it confusing on 10mph=100watt and 12mph=120watt? since the reading is showing a 50%increase so is the answer 120watt or 150watt?
